New Jersey is in the midst of a population boom. As more and more people move here, roadways will become increasingly crowded. Overcrowded roadways are a recipe for auto accidents. These days, just going for a short drive can potentially result in a serious or fatal crash. Drivers must stay focused at all times behind the wheel.

Two-Vehicle Crash

Recently, a two-vehicle crash in Toms River resulted in the death of one person and critically injured two others. The accident happened during the morning hours at the intersection of Route 37 and Oak Ridge Parkway. According to reports, the driver of a westbound vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Route 37 and ran the red light at the intersection. Reports said the westbound vehicle slammed into a vehicle that was headed south on Oak Ridge Parkway.

Tragedy

Authorities said two occupants in the southbound vehicle were critically injured and rushed to a local hospital. Reportedly, the driver of the westbound vehicle was also badly injured and died a short time later at the hospital. Police said this was the third fatal crash so far this year on Route 37 in Toms River.

Motor vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of injury and death across the country. A serious or fatal auto accident can happen without warning and in the blink of an eye. Those in New Jersey who have suffered injuries or the loss of a loved one due to negligence in auto accidents have the right to pursue damages by contacting a skilled litigator. A lawsuit, if successful, can supply victims and families with much needed and deserved compensation.
