New Jersey Man Facing DUI Charge After Car Accident
A serious car accident in Brick has led to the arrest of a 27-year-old man and put two people in the hospital, according to local news. Police in New Jersey apprehended the man following the two-car crash they believe was predicated on DUI. The investigation is still underway, and as of now, no court date has been announced.
The Alleged Details of The Incident
The report claims that just before 8 p.m. the night of Sept. 7, the 27-year-old man was speeding in his pickup truck westbound in Brick when the accident occurred. A vehicle driven by a 79-year-old woman and carrying a 78-year-old female passenger was struck on the passenger side with enough force to spin the vehicle into a parked car. The two occupants were taken to a local hospital complaining of chest and body pain.
The 27-year-old driver sustained injuries to his face of an unknown severity and was also taken to a hospital. However, he was first charged with driving while intoxicated, though the report makes no mention of any roadside sobriety testing that may have taken place. Police have asked anyone with knowledge of the crash to reach out to Brick Police’s Traffic Safety Office.
